Anine Bing Opens Her First Store on L.A.’s West Third Street
The most surefire way to snag that elusive model-off-duty look is to head straight to the new Anine Bing flagship on West Third Street. And while we’re not quick to make sweeping claims like that, we’re pretty sure that Bing’s past life as an actual model gives her the cred to create that signature look. The new store, which sits pretty between Beckley and Satine (it formerly housed shoe brand Katheryn Amberleigh) is a clean, gallery-inspired spot that’s perfect to showcase Bing’s laid-back designs in the city she now calls home.
“Ive been looking for more than a year to find the perfect location. It didn’t feel right until I walked into this store on 8130 Third Street,” said Bing. “I really love the area – it has so many great restaurants and shops. I always live by the motto: ‘you know when you know’ and this was true for the store as well – I just knew when I walked in the door that this is where I want to open my first store.”
The Danish designer and mother, who entered the world of fashion through modeling (which she started at just 15 years old), is known for being a blogger favorite thanks to easy, effortless pieces that catch the attention of street style photogs without going over the top.
“I learned so much from my years as a model,” Bing said. “I got to know the industry from all angels and Im using the experience in my daily work.”
Taking inspiration from the L.A.
“Since I started the brand its been our studded boots, leather jackets and denim,” Bing says when asked about the store’s most popular items. “This fall everybody seems to go crazy for our chunky knits!”
You can often find Bing herself at the shop and if you need any outfit inspiration, it doesn’t get any better than seeing the clothes on the designer, who always looks like she’s ready for a snap from Tommy Ton. The West Third Street shop may be Bing’s first, but she’s always looking ahead and you can definitely expect more stores in the future.
“I want to open more stores — it really is the perfect way to give the customer the best brand experience,” she says. “I also love being in the store myself and get to know my costumers. It is such a rewarding feeling when somebody find clothes that makes them feel good about themselves.”
Anine Bing joins Le Labo, the soon-to-open Murad flagship, Kate Spade Saturday’s first West Coast shop and more on what’s becoming L.A.’s most sought-after retail real estate.
